Melaleuca is a wellness based company with its world headquarters located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Melaleuca offers a home business opportunity by selling or marketing their products through MLM or multi-level marketing.
The Melaleuca product line consists of many different types of products. They include homecare, personal care, and nutritional supplements. Many of Melaleuca’s products are all natural and are designed to help with a person’s overall wellness in mind. Some examples given by people that have consumed Melaleuca products include statements of relief from headaches, arthritis, and inflammation based symptoms.
The Melaleuca business opportunity contains a multi-level, open-ended matrix compensation plan. The issue with the comp plan is that it can’t be easily understood by most. The other issue is because it is a matrix compensation plan and spillover will happen at some point, many times this can encourage laziness. An example of how this could work is when a hard working person will be sponsoring lots of people under his team and so they in turn may receive a small check. Some team members may then assume that because they received income for doing nothing, that no work is involved in building a successful MLM business. Some people do well with the matrix plans, but many struggle.
In conclusion, Melaleuca seems to have a decent product line, but in my opinion the comp plan leaves more to be desired. If you don’t mind having to get an average of 100-200 people or more on your team just to make a $1000 residual check each month (which is pretty true with any MLM opportunity), then the Melaleuca business might be the right fit for you.
